Last June ‘08 I travelled again to Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia with nine other girlfriends. In Zimbabwe we were able to study elephants in a log hide by the waters edge so close you could count their eyelashes. In Botswana we were lucky to visit

Pete’s Pond, the 24 hour wild cam at National Geographic’s site.

This photo was taken one evening after our hike into our bush camp in Botswana. Paul told us many stories and one of the time he had walked into a pride of lions and how he handled the situation. For fun I asked him and the ladies to reproduce the scene for a photo. It was hilarious but what a great pic!

Paul was a terrific guy and a good sport and we had a lot of fun with him. Sadly, he passed away just three weeks after this photograph was taken. All of us were so saddened by this news, we were so fortunate to have had this time with him.
